Efforts that enabled Tare Zameen Foundation to build a community of over 3,000 fundraisers

Tare Zameen Foundation's goal is to bring light and hope into the lives of people who face discrimination and marginalization because of poverty, gender, caste, physical disabilities, or economic backgrounds. Working with the motto of “Together We Can Change Lives", the NGO focuses on mainly three pillars- education, empowerment and health.

In their recent fundraising stint with GiveIndia, Tare Zameen Foundation is raising funds towards three projects with currently over 3000 active fundraisers. How did they onboard as many individuals to champion for their cause and start fundraisers, one may ask. Tare Zameen Foundation started by setting up a team with a group of leading fundraisers working closely with the Chairman of the organisation. These leaders further onboarded multiple volunteers from within their networks of family, friends and colleagues, motivated them and assisted them to create fundraisers for projects that they felt closely about.

One month of extensive groundwork put into onboarding potential volunteers enabled the NGO to reach out to over 10,000 individuals and 7,000 fundraisers were started for the organisation at one point. The NGO however describes this as an on-going effort as it is essential to keep this community engaged and encouraged during the entire process. Our partner also ensured transparency so that the fundraisers are informed how the funds are getting utilised, and incentivised top performers to keep their spirits up and motivate others.

With multiple fundraisers raising amounts as per their individual potential, the NGO has been able to gather sufficient funds to (i) provide basic education and books to unprivileged boys and girls, through Meri Pehchan project, (ii) distribute free sanitary napkin kits, through project Sakha and (iii) provide ration kits to underprivileged families facing hunger during lockdown
