Here’s how Pravah raised over ₹4.3 lakhs on their first fundraiser by leveraging International Women

Pravah, a youth-centric organisation, is raising funds for Changelooms, a social entrepreneurship programme for women. They have shared with us their first online fundraising experience on GiveIndia Fundraisers.

“We ensured that both the fundraising and project teams were involved in the process from the beginning so that we could pool together our resources and expertise to make the fundraiser a success. We have made sure to actively use the feedback we receive from supporters to strengthen the campaign. The game changer has been to push ourselves as individuals out of our comfort zone and reach out to our close as well as long lost connections.”

As the project is investing in the leadership journeys of young women social entrepreneurs, their fundraiser is completely tied to the cause of women empowerment. They have leveraged International Women’s Day this month for fundraising and aligned their social media strategy appropriately.

“Our advice to other NGOs considering retail fundraising for the first time would be to be audacious and not get bogged down by rejection or lack of conversions. With consistent efforts, everything eventually falls into place”, says Anjali Anand, Programme Coordinator at Pravah.

We applaud our NGO partner, Pravah for their effective strategising, and hope that they continue to leverage retail fundraising to set it up as a steady source of income!

With World Health Day approaching on April 7th, we would like to share with you an opportunity to leverage an important day for fundraising. Here is a social media calendar with communication templates that you can use for your World Health Day fundraising campaign:
