Humana People to People India’s fundraiser for continued education during the pandemic

The pandemic has not only crippled our healthcare system but also had a dilapidated effect on many aspects like livelihood, hunger, and education.

Little Sangharsh and sister Khushbu, children of an out-of-job migrant factory worker, were deprived of education. In May 2019 our partner Humana People to People India (HPPI) took them under their Kadam Programme for out-of-school children. And thus began their educational journey.

The lockdown put a halt to the center where the kids studied but didn’t deter their motivation to continue studying at home. “Through video calls, our teacher helps us study,” said Sangharsh who wants to keep learning and also help his sister study.

Nearly 83,000 out-of-school children have been a part of the Kadam Programme since the year 2016, and have been assisted with guidance and appropriate tools to close their learning gaps so they can be integrated into age-appropriate regular classes in formal schools.

The unique toolkit provided to children as a part of the Kadam Programme enables them to study at their individual learning level and progress at their own pace.

We salute the efforts of HPPI for keeping alive the educational dreams of 83,000 out-of-school children.
