For almost 15 years, Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust's Mobility Project has been making a difference in the lives of disabled individuals by empowering underserved children, youth and the disabled community through relevant support services like education, clothes, books, food and using innovative technology solutions in the area of disability such as providing prosthetic limbs, calipers, etc. These projects are being carried out in India and other developing nations.
The organization’s fundraising success relies heavily on the active involvement of their volunteers. They onboard college students who possess empathy and know how to leverage their social network. These volunteers are guided and trained by dedicated mentors. During the recent booster incentive in #GFC’23 named ‘Launchpad’ they were able to garner the support of 131 donors through this strategy of soliciting small donations from a large pool of donors. By tapping into the social media presence of their volunteers who are motivated and feel connected to the cause, the organization has been able to create a strong youth movement. Additionally, Ratna Nidhi offers incentives such as certificates of appreciation and educational books to recognize the volunteers' contributions.
Ratna Nidhi's success can be attributed to their motivated team, clear purpose, effective volunteer management, and leveraging social media outreach. They've had successful retail fundraising experience with Give and found that social media outreach, combined with word-of-mouth, has been a fruitful strategy. Their crowdfunding efforts remind us of the power of networking and the impact it can have on those in need.
